Leukocytes are white blood cells, the body's first line of defence. Counts often rise with infection or inflammation.
The total white cell count is a blunt but useful number. When it is abnormal, the differential count shows which type of white cell is changing.
What does low White blood cells (LPK) mean?
Low LPK can reflect viral infection, medications, autoimmune disease, or bone marrow problems.
What does high White blood cells (LPK) mean?
High LPK appears with bacterial infection, inflammation, stress, or less often blood disorders.
